Both Jim and Kristy have won awards for their work. Kristy has had the pleasure of having two pieces travel the state of Nebraska in a touring exhibition.
Both were featured in a front page article in 2011 in the Norfolk Daily News. It was the third time that Kristy has graced the cover.
She was also asked to illustrate a children's book in 2010. The book, "Lessons from a Rubber Duck", was released in December and focuses on the topic of bullying. The book is available at all major book retailers, including: Amazon & Barnes and Noble. The book is also available through the publisher, WriteLife.
Another book is in the works and is scheduled to be released in the next year.
In 2010, a 40' mural was unveiled at the Madison County Museum depicting Lewis and Clark in their travels to the pacific. The piece, completely done in acrylic, was completed within a six month period. The museum will be playing host to an upcoming Smithsonian exhibit appropriately named, "Journey's." Of course the mural will be showcased at this time. The Madison County Museum, Madison, NE. is open daily from 1-4 pm. Private tours are also available.
Another mural is in the works and is scheduled to be completed by next year.
Knapp Studios would love the opportunity to create custom pieces for you, your home or family.
